About the Role

HTS Toronto is seeking a construction cost estimator for its Sheet Metal Department. This role involves focusing on the selection and pricing of various sheet metal related HVAC products, with full training provided. The position is based in a welcoming office environment alongside a team of estimators.

Responsibilities

• Use Bluebeam® computerized estimating software to prepare equipment quantity counts and cost estimates.
• Review construction project drawings and written documents.
• Assemble and record all pricing elements in our computerized project management system.
• Work effectively with technical individuals, including general contractors, engineers, and designers.
• Assist colleagues in selecting appropriate products to meet project-specific requirements.
• Maintain accurate files documenting revisions and project status.
• Manage priorities effectively to meet tender timelines.
• Work with construction drawings and documents that may be incomplete.

Requirements

• CET or other technical diploma is an asset, but not a requirement.
• Experience in the construction industry is preferred, but complementary experience is valued.
• Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• A focused and disciplined work ethic.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans.
• Positive work attitude with a problem-solving aptitude.
• Good mathematical abilities.
• Scheduling and calendar management skills.
