About the Role
This role is crucial for administering US payroll, executing People Operations programs, supporting employee benefits, ensuring compliance, and collaborating across departments to maintain a positive and efficient employee experience.
Responsibilities
- Administer non-exempt bi-weekly and exempt semi-monthly US payroll, ensuring accuracy of all data before submission deadlines.
- Validate and process commissions and expense reimbursements for payroll.
- Perform pre-submission payroll audits to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll inquiries, escalating issues as needed.
- Maintain organized payroll records and ensure a complete audit trail.
- Stay updated on changes to payroll calculations and regulations, flagging impacts to leadership.
- Execute People Operations programs within a regional scope, identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Maintain HRIS data integrity, including employee records, org hierarchies, and position data.
- Interpret and apply company policies and regional compliance requirements.
- Manage all employee lifecycle transactions, including new hires, transfers, promotions, leaves, and offboarding.
- Oversee end-to-end onboarding and offboarding logistics.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee benefits questions, triaging inquiries and connecting employees to resources.
- Coordinate qualifying life events and open enrollment activities.
- Manage leave of absence processes, including tracking entitlements and coordinating with payroll and vendors.
- Research and summarize information for HR compliance reviews and stay current on employment law changes.
- Maintain compliant employee files and documentation.
- Support annual compliance filings and ensure required employment postings are current.
- Identify and propose improvements to data governance standards and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with People Business Partners to align operational execution with strategic decisions.
- Coordinate with IT for new hire access provisioning and system integrations.
- Lead or contribute to significant People team projects and cross-functional workgroups.
- Ensure People Operations goals are prioritized in cross-functional projects.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of related HR experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years with a Master's degree.
- Hands-on payroll entry experience across multiple cycles and employee populations (exempt and non-exempt).
- Exceptional comfort with numbers and spreadsheets; ability to identify data errors.
- Working knowledge of US wage-and-hour law.
- HRIS administration experience required (Workday, Rippling, BambooHR, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of US employment law and HR best practices.
- Strong proficiency in Google Suite and exemplary skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Comfort learning new technical systems quickly.
- Experience in a high-velocity environment.
- Previous experience in a software/technology company (Bonus).
- Experience working with a PEO (TriNet, Rippling, Justworks, or similar) (Bonus).
- Previous work with a global team (Bonus).
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent certification (Bonus).
