About the Role
The UP – Analytics Front Office team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to solve complex problems in challenging, time-critical environments. This role involves operating services that provide real-time PnL and Risk monitoring for diverse trading desks.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate low latency risk analytics systems.
- Decompose complex functional requirements into efficient, simple, and reliably changeable service designs.
- Provide on-call support as part of a team rotation across US and UK time zones.
- Mentor team members and contribute unique knowledge to advance team capabilities.
Requirements
- Extensive experience designing and operating low latency distributed systems at scale for critical business functions.
- Extensive experience in testing and test automation.
- Fluency in functional and object-oriented programming languages.
- Competency in using Git, CI/CD platforms, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with C#, Java, Python, or C++.
- Familiarity with databases such as MSSQL, Postgres, or Redis.
- Familiarity with event-based platforms like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Familiarity with data structures and design/analysis of algorithms.
- Ability and desire to learn, adapt, and grow.
- Personal humility, respect for others, and trust in teammates.
- Ability to independently drive projects to completion while preferring collaboration.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
