About the Role
Longhorn Village is seeking a skilled Life Enrichment Coordinator with a strong positive attitude toward customer service. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationships with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, be creative, and work towards accomplishing facility goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop, organize, coordinate, and implement comprehensive services and programs that meet the needs and interests of each resident.
- Manage resident and staff relations.
- Implement and supervise programs and activities for residents in the Independent Living Facility.
- Implement and supervise designated programs and activities for the Independent Living facility, engaging speakers, entertainers, and community outreach groups.
- Serve as liaison between dining services and operations departments regarding set-up and clean-up of resident activities.
- Plan and produce the monthly calendar, newsletter, and weekly updates, publicizing programs for residents and staff.
- Recruit, onboard, and coordinate volunteers.
- Establish and maintain acceptable record-keeping practices.
- Attend scheduled in-services and training as required.
- Maintain work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
- Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates, and vendors.
- Develop, implement, and act in accordance with department and community policies.
- Be "on-call" status during time away from work, after working hours, or during days off.
- Respond to critical operating issues and disaster emergencies as needed by the CEO.
Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, and follow written and verbal directions.
- Requires a minimum of one-year experience in activity planning, preferably in a health care environment.
