About the Role
Join a fast-paced Agile team developing mission-critical geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) applications for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). You will design, develop, and deploy modern web-based software solutions that enable intelligence analysis and support national security missions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain software applications using Java and/or Python.
- Design and implement web application features using modern frameworks and best practices.
- Integrate and manage structured and unstructured data using relational and non-relational databases.
- Support the development and enhancement of geospatial and GIS-enabled applications.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and software integration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver capabilities within sprint cycles.
- Apply secure coding practices and support security-focused development processes.
- Troubleshoot, perform tuning, and improve existing applications.
- Contribute to technical documentation and system design discussions.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience developing and maintaining applications using Java or Python.
- Experience designing and implementing web-based applications using modern frameworks.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, including data modeling and optimization.
- Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience working within Agile environments and the full software development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of secure software development practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- TS/SCI security clearance with willingness to undergo polygraph examination.
