About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Learn about raw materials and cullet management, including characteristics, properties, collection, treatment, testing, and control.
  • Gain knowledge of melting technology, including melting phenomena, glass conditioning, parameters, and measurement/control methods.
  • Understand the end-to-end process of furnace operations and engineering, covering furnace management, heating, utilities, construction, energy management, and maintenance.
  • Learn about glass quality controls and color changes.
  • Develop skills in troubleshooting glass defects and furnace issues.
  • Acquire proficiency in data analysis and understanding cause-effect links in glass production.
  • Complete a manager-approved project focused on energy savings and process improvement within the batch and furnace department.
