About the Role

Waterview Hills Campus is home to Waterview Hills and Salem Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare: Two facilities committed to providing outstanding Subacute Rehab and Long-Term Skilled Nursing Care. Together, these facilities offer patients the best rehab and nursing care they can obtain after their hospital discharge. The Cook is responsible for preparation/cooking of foods and to provide our residents with all of their meals and/or snacks in a sanitary and safe manner adhering to all policies and procedures of the facility while focusing on customer service and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook foods for residents, ensuring sanitary and safe practices.
- Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, focusing on customer service and satisfaction.
- Prepare meals adhering to all dietetic needs, policies, procedures, and New York State Department of Health codes.
- Provide proper dining room service for residents and family members.
- Perform proper "in kitchen" preparation and cleaning for assigned station.
- Prepare all foods adhering to New York State codes and regulations for sanitation, storage, and temperature.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience and training in food preparation in a health care facility or related food service operation.
- Completion of an approved sanitation course or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cook in a health care setting desired.
- Full knowledge of all sanitary codes and menu production methods.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
- Exemplary customer service skills.
