About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on and focused engineering consultant to uphold EDC's approach to quality-driven success. This role involves fulfilling electrical design work, working to project deadlines, assisting modellers, and developing project scope with the design team and clients. The position is primarily office/home based with occasional client meetings. You will follow EDC’s Environmental Management System and perform duties supporting the company’s environmental objectives and sustainability commitments. Work-from-home arrangements are to be agreed with the line manager, with an expectation of three days in the office and flexibility to balance business and personal needs.

Responsibilities

Fulfill electrical design work as required, working to project deadlines.
Assist modellers to produce detailed working drawings in 3D and scheme drawings.
Develop the project scope with the design team/client.
Follow EDC’s Environmental Management System (EMS), including all related policies, procedures, and training.
Perform duties in a manner that supports the company’s environmental objectives and sustainability commitments.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years Building Services Consultancy Design experience.
Competent user of Amtech/Dialux, Autodesk Applications.
BIM experience would be advantageous.
Commercial & residential sector experience.
Degree qualification in Electrical Design Engineering.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc.).
Proficient user of Autodesk Applications (AutoCAD/Design Review).
Proficient user of Amtech, Relux or Dialux.
Building Information Modelling (BIM) experience will be advantageous.
Commercial sector knowledge/experience a strong advantage.

Skills

The design and specification of electrical building services in a variety of industry and project types, sizes, and complexity.
Experience and involvement in detailed designs through the full design cycle.
Electrical design areas: Lighting & Emergency Lighting, Small Power and Data, Fire alarms, CCTV & Intruder Alarms, LV Power Distribution and Containment.
Knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Standards.
Project management skills.
