About the Role

We are seeking a Product Manager to oversee the entire lifecycle of Herald's carrier markets. This role requires significant ownership and involves close collaboration with product, engineering, and carrier partnerships. You will act as the liaison between Herald's engineering team and our carrier and implementation partners, ensuring market health, launching new markets, and managing the necessary change management as our API and products evolve. A key aspect of this role involves identifying and implementing AI and agentic workflows to enhance integration processes, from monitoring and auto-triage to partner onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Placement System, Herald's platform for managing commercial submissions from intake through bind.
  • Ensure connectivity health by identifying and addressing unhandled cases, improper rejects, and auth issues.
  • Manage new integration builds, serving as the external-facing project manager with carrier partners through technical scoping, QA, and launch.
  • Provide integration technical support, triaging and resolving connectivity, workflow, and data issues, and communicating status to partners.
  • Handle integration business support, including product configuration, producer onboarding, and stakeholder inquiries.
  • Manage change initiatives by negotiating roadmap adjustments with carriers, coordinating updates with implementation partners, and overseeing internal processes for API schema and workflow evolution.
  • Launch new carrier integrations, managing technical scoping, build coordination, testing, and go-live.
  • Scope and audit workflows to enhance messaging quality.
  • Improve integration self-healing and monitoring-to-resolution pipelines.
  • Identify and scope agentic workflows to automate high-frequency, low-judgment tasks within the integration lifecycle, such as issue triage, partner status updates, and producer onboarding.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in technical product management or a closely adjacent role (e.g., implementation engineering, solutions engineering, or integration PM) in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Habitual, fluent use of AI tools in your own work for drafting communications, investigating problems, synthesizing information, and reducing repetitive effort.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage external technical stakeholders, including running scoping calls, holding partners to timelines, and escalating diplomatically.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, including request/response cycles, schema structures, authentication patterns, and reading API documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating clear external-facing status updates, internal change management documents, and technical scoping summaries.
  • Comfortable transitioning between technical depth and business context.
  • Experience in commercial insurance, insuretech, or a closely adjacent vertical is a plus.
  • Prior experience at a company building workflow automation, document processing, or AI-assisted tools for enterprise users is a plus.
  • Experience designing or scoping AI-assisted or agentic workflows is a plus.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and how they underpin product features is a plus.
  • Prior startup experience at a company in a similar stage (Series A–C) is a plus.
