About the Role

Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries like food, mining, and transport. This role is crucial for developing and maintaining the high-performance, secure cloud services that power our fleet operations, dispatch, and deployment platforms, ensuring mission-critical systems remain reliable.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable backend systems and APIs for fleet operations, dispatch, and deployment platforms.
• Build and maintain high-performance, secure cloud services for 24/7 reliability.
• Develop robust APIs, developer tools, and frameworks to accelerate other teams' development.
• Engineer backend services for operator- and customer-facing applications, ensuring seamless end-to-end experiences.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to bring systems from concept to production.
• Conduct code reviews, implement testing strategies, and maintain documentation.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership growth.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building backend systems.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, or a similar language.
• Strong command of relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills under production pressure.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading team projects is a plus.
