About the Role

As a diesel mechanic, you will perform complex operations including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs on large commercial vehicles. You will conduct thorough preventive maintenance inspections and provide roadside and emergency service repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough, accurate preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Complete all required maintenance operations including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance as needed.
  • Perform complex operations including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs and field tests.
  • Interpret and work from drawings, specifications, and other technical materials.
  • Perform emergency roadside services as needed.
  • Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical defects.
  • Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.
  • Maintain tools and workplaces so that conditions are neat and orderly.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Be flexible with on-call service calls, extended hours, or weekend work during emergency conditions.
  • Drive vans, buses, and vehicles to perform road tests etc. as required.

Requirements

  • Accreditation from a school or certification program preferred.
  • Complete all training requirements.
  • Pass pre-employment screenings.
  • Pass a background check.
