About the Role
The Airport Lounge Utility position involves performing a full range of back-of-house cleaning duties and responsibilities to support company operations, ensuring health standards are met and assisting with various operational tasks.
Responsibilities
- Restocks bar and kitchen supplies in all service and work areas to meet health standards.
- Cleans dishware and operates dishwashing machine.
- Cleans breakrooms/kitchens, disinfecting sinks, countertops, tables, chairs, and refrigerators.
- Assists with cleaning of all lounge areas.
- Assists with food preparation, including cutting fruit for the bar program.
- Assists with bussing and cleaning of tables.
- Empties wastebaskets and recyclables and transports them to the disposal area.
- Helps with deliveries by loading and unloading products following the FIFO method.
- Passes and obtains food handler certification and maintains current city and state approved badges and permits.
- Adheres to all local and state health department and other state agency regulations.
- Assists with the removal of trash throughout the lounge, taking it to designated disposal areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to successfully pass an airport authority security background check.
- Must be at least 18 or 21 years of age as applicable by law.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
- Possess verbal communication skills necessary to communicate with customers, passengers, and co-workers.
- Able to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must be able to perform essential duties complying with company standards.
- Ability to cooperate with peers, customers, and supervisors of diverse nature.
- Pass and maintain all necessary licenses and certifications as applicable by law.
- Must be able to stand during the entire scheduled shift.
- Ability to handle the stress of a fast-paced work shift up to ten hours.
- Ability to read and interpret basic documents and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group settings to passengers, customers, and other team members.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to bend, climb up/down, crouch, hear, kneel, reach, speak, stand, turn, twist, and walk.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds, 40 inches high without the aid of another person.
- Must be able to push and/or pull 120 pounds with the assistance of a wheeled cart.
- Ability to perform tasks safely and according to established procedures to prevent personal injury, injury to others, and avoid damage to the environment, facilities, and equipment.
- Ability to follow all lawful safety and health regulations.
- Personal appearance and grooming will present a favorable corporate and customer image.
- Must be able to pass and obtain security background check and clearance to work in an airport environment.
- Report to work on a regular and timely basis.
