About the Role

Fitch Group is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Technology & Data Team in Toronto. This role involves working on enterprise-scale applications within a dynamic, innovation-focused environment that leverages cutting-edge technologies like AI and cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop full-stack enterprise-scale applications and websites.
  • Collaborate in an agile team for design, development, debugging, and deployment.
  • Address security, cross-browser, and cross-platform requirements.
  • Translate design concepts into clean, responsive code.
  • Implement API and data layer integrations.
  • Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to define business needs and architecture.
  • Design, review, implement, and optimize engineering processes.
  • Maintain data quality and build business domain expertise.
  • Maintain and enhance microservices-based components.
  • Establish and maintain development best practices and guidelines.
  • Write automated unit, integration, performance, and visual regression tests.
  • Integrate test execution into CI/CD pipelines to support DevSecOps.
  • Promote and evolve best practices for commits, versioning, and dependency management.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience developing distributed applications of moderate-to-high complexity.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
  • Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with Content Management Systems, specifically Contentful.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot or Microsoft Copilot.
  • Working knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB.
  • Familiarity with RESTful and GraphQL API development and testing tools like Postman.
  • Experience with version control using Git/GitHub.
  • Understanding of basic CI/CD concepts.
  • Ability to work in Agile/DevSecOps environments with a focus on security and automation.
