About the Role
This role provides general, administrative, and operational support to Investment Partners and Investment Managers, ensuring clients and third-party advisors receive first-class service. The position is responsible for the accurate, efficient, and timely completion of administrative, organizational, and client-related tasks, including regular contact with third-party advisors.
Responsibilities
- Assist the team with all aspects of client and adviser contact, including ongoing and ad-hoc reporting.
- Liaise with Dealers and Back Office on deal settlement and report any irregularities.
- Maintain client lists and information, including spreadsheets and databases.
- Support Investment Manager and Partner with the preparation of book-wide trading.
- Review and advise on corporate actions, such as open offers and rights issues, and instruct the Corporate Actions team.
- Provide analytics for the team, including performance, asset allocation reports, and capital gains.
- Ensure all current/new client account data is complete, up-to-date, and accurate.
- Produce reports and presentations for existing and prospective clients, including valuations and end-of-year packs.
- Handle client and adviser correspondence and queries.
- Monitor portfolios for content and performance.
- Ensure all prospects are stored on the relevant database and client correspondence is filed.
- Assist the Investment Manager and Partner with investment research and assessment.
- Attend client meetings with Investment Partners/Investment Managers as appropriate.
- Monitor external custodians for accuracy and timeliness of processing.
- Maintain effective working relationships with key external contacts, including private clients, third-party advisors, intermediaries, and external asset managers.
- Undertake other tasks or specific project work as requested by Investment Managers.
Requirements
- Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
- Some experience with AI systems (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) is beneficial but not necessary.
- Previous work experience in a Front Office environment in a Trainee Investment Manager position, ideally within Wealth Management, is beneficial but not necessary.
- Investment Diploma Advice (IAD) is advantageous.
- Willingness to proactively work towards professional qualifications.
- Undertakes sufficient professional development for the role, including CPD.
- Keeps abreast of all relevant developments in the financial services industry and regulatory changes.
- Generates new ideas/initiatives to help promote the firm to potential clients.
- Keeps accurate client records and ensures they are held in the appropriate format on the relevant database.
- Takes initiative for their own work within an understood framework of scope and authority.
- Acts at all times in a professional manner.
- Deals with all matters promptly, professionally, and effectively.
