About the Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a senior leader to join the Compliance and Operational Risk Department as the lead coverage for the Technology Function supporting international business activities. This role involves providing oversight and risk management for technology-related domains, including Data Management, Information Security, and Artificial Intelligence, while acting as a subject matter expert within the second line of defense.
Responsibilities
- Provide second line oversight and risk management for Technology, Data Management, Information Security, and Artificial Intelligence.
- Act as a subject matter expert on regulations and operational risks applicable to technology.
- Provide proactive, value-add technical regulatory compliance and operational risk advice to technology functions and business lines.
- Challenge business initiatives to ensure risks are identified and managed appropriately.
- Lead compliance and operational risk efforts in business-led projects and new initiatives.
- Engage with global and international teams on regulatory change management, risk assessments, policy, training, and reporting.
- Represent Compliance and Operational Risk at governance committees and forums.
- Collaborate with Legal, Audit, regulators, and business leaders to manage risk-related topics.
- Manage the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance and operational risk programs.
- Consult with executive leadership to formulate and implement risk policies, procedures, and controls.
- Lead initiatives that cross multiple lines of business with significant impact and risk.
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for the functional area.
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development.
Requirements
- Experience in Compliance, Operational Risk, or equivalent.
- Corporate and Investment Banking experience in Compliance, Operational Risk, Legal, or the Business.
- Deep expertise in technology risk domains including resilience engineering, disaster recovery, network security, and asset lifecycle management.
- Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and ISO.
- Technical proficiency in data governance, architecture, and protection.
- Extensive knowledge of Global Corporate and Investment Banking businesses.
- Strong understanding of the external market and regulatory environment.
- Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
