About the Role

As the world leader in serving science, Thermo Fisher Scientific's Japanese subsidiary supports cutting-edge scientific research in materials science and electronic device development. This role involves maintaining and installing advanced scientific instruments like electron microscopes, X-ray photoelectron spectrometers, and electrical failure analysis devices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting for electron microscopes, X-ray photoelectron spectrometers, and electrical failure analysis devices to ensure optimal performance.
  • Replace consumables and address software and hardware issues.
  • Plan and execute the installation of electron microscopes, X-ray photoelectron spectrometers, and electrical failure analysis devices.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to determine product specifications and provide on-site support for installation layout planning.

Requirements

  • University, junior college, technical college, or vocational school graduate.
  • Background in a science or engineering field.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, electronic, or mechanical engineering.
  • Willingness to learn technical English, as product manuals are in English.
  • Ability to connect devices to networks and operate PCs.
  • Experience in the semiconductor and semiconductor manufacturing equipment industry is a plus.
  • Experience using physical science or analytical instruments is a plus.
  • Previous service engineer experience is preferred.
  • Experience in machine maintenance is preferred.
