About the Role
The HR Manager will support the Director of Human Resources, Europe, in delivering HR services to London-based partners, associates, and business service professionals. This role involves acting as a trusted advisor on employee relations, performance management, and people-related risks, while also collaborating with the global HR team on projects.
Responsibilities
- Partner with leaders to provide strategic people advice and solutions supporting organizational goals, workforce effectiveness, talent development, and employee engagement.
- Utilize people data and insights to inform decision-making and drive business performance.
- Act as a trusted advisor on people and organizational issues.
- Lead and manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, harassment, bullying, and workplace conflict.
- Conduct investigations ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.
- Provide expert advice on employment legislation, HR policies, and best practices.
- Identify employee relations trends and recommend proactive interventions to mitigate risk.
- Ensure all employee relations documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and compliant.
- Manage probation and end-of-contract meetings.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and action planning.
- Partner with leaders to improve employee experience and retention.
- Foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
- Identify organizational, team, and management development needs.
- Coordinate the delivery of internal and external training programs, workshops, and development initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Employee Relations focused role within a law firm.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Extensive experience managing employee relations cases from investigation to resolution.
- Demonstrated experience coaching and influencing managers at all levels.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent mediation and conflict-resolution capabilities.
- Punctuality and regular attendance are required.
- Must be highly skilled in MS Suite – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- HR Hub and Greenhouse experience is preferable.
