About the Role
As a Business Development Representative for the Nordic region, you will drive company growth by generating and nurturing sales leads for a unified, cloud-based platform focused on Human Risk Management and comprehensive email security. You will be the first point of contact for potential customers, responsible for high-volume outreach to qualify leads and create new business opportunities, working closely with Marketing, Channel, and Sales teams, as well as reseller partners.
Responsibilities
- Conduct cold calls and send outbound emails to identify and qualify potential leads.
- Identify and qualify potential business opportunities through strategic outreach, cold calling, email campaigns, and social media engagement.
- Follow-up on marketing-generated leads to assess fit and potential for Mimecast products.
- Work with reseller partners to identify and generate joint opportunities.
- Research and profile target accounts to identify key decision-makers, stakeholders, and potential pain points.
- Articulate Mimecast’s value proposition, secure meetings, and handoff to the wider sales team.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads and ensure accurate tracking of all activities, interactions, and prospect details in the CRM system.
- Conduct initial needs analysis to understand prospect requirements, pain points, and business challenges.
- Work closely with Account Executives, marketing teams, and reseller partners to ensure seamless transition of qualified leads, alignment on strategic initiatives, and joint opportunity generation.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to effectively position the company’s solutions and refine outreach strategies.
- Schedule qualified meetings with the appropriate sales representatives or Account Executives (AEs).
- Attend training sessions, stay updated on product developments, and refine skills to enhance prospecting effectiveness.
Requirements
- Previous experience in tele-sales, business development, or outbound prospecting is a plus, though not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and ideally, though not essential, one Nordic language (Swedish, Danish, or Norwegian).
- Candidates who do not speak a Nordic language should have lived or worked in the region.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage potential customers and articulate value propositions.
- A motivated self-starter with a desire to exceed targets and grow your sales career.
- Ability to handle objections and rejection, remaining focused and determined.
- Experience using sales engagement platforms, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM, and automation tools preferred.
- Strong time management and ability to juggle multiple tasks at once while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct thorough needs analysis, understand customer pain points, and qualify opportunities effectively.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and channel partners.
- Persistence and resilience in the face of rejection and challenges in lead generation.
- Willingness to iterate messaging and approach based on feedback and market conditions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to maintain high outreach activity levels.
- Successful completion of applicable background checks, conducted in accordance with local law.
