About the Role

The Demi Chef reports directly to the Sous Chef, offering an energetic and exciting hands-on approach to flawless product execution in an environment focused on safety and culinary excellence. This role is pivotal for Black Bar & Grill's success, creating unforgettable dining experiences.

Responsibilities

• Support or lead the assigned section as directed by the Jr Sous Chef and provide training to junior staff members.
• Assist with fundamental cooking and food preparation tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations.
• Complete all duties in line with company and statutory hygiene requirements.
• Meet requirements for consistency and high quality in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Experience working within a fine dining venue; steak house desirable.
• Woodfire cooking highly desirable.
• Proficiency with diverse food preparation techniques and cooking equipment.
• Experience in signature dining settings, with strong communication skills and understanding of relevant liquor laws.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
