About the Role
Caseware is seeking a Senior UX Designer to own complex design challenges at the intersection of design craft and AI-assisted making. This role will contribute to transforming design practices by integrating tools like Figma Make, Claude Code, and Replit, while designing user experiences for cloud-based audit, financial reporting, and data analytics solutions used globally.
Responsibilities
- Design exceptional user experiences for Caseware’s cloud-based audit, financial reporting, and data analytics products, from problem framing through implementation using tools like Figma Make, Claude Code, and Replit alongside traditional UX methods.
- Shape the team's AI integration in design practice by evaluating new tools, sharing best practices, and balancing AI-assisted and manual workflows.
- Design human oversight moments within agentic workflows, determining user needs for visibility and choice, and collaborating with engineering on feature triggers.
- Contribute to evolving Caseware’s design system, enhancing component patterns, and ensuring AI-generated UI meets design system and accessibility standards.
- Plan and lead user research, utilizing AI for synthesizing findings and identifying patterns from usability testing.
- Lead cross-functional design discussions to shape product direction, aligning end-user and business requirements with Product and Engineering, and using AI-generated prototypes for rapid scenario modeling.
- Represent the design team to various stakeholders, including Team Leads, Development, Product, and external contacts, and drive cross-team initiatives.
- Mentor junior and intermediate designers, guiding them through complex design problems and ambiguity, and fostering growth in design craft and AI-assisted practices.
- Actively participate in design critiques and stay informed about advancements in UX practice, AI tooling, and the accounting software industry.
Requirements
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for the intersection of design craft and AI-assisted making.
- Understanding of responsible AI principles (bias, transparency, accountability, designing for trust).
- Critical thinking to ensure speed and automation do not compromise user-centered outcomes.
- At least 3 years of professional UX experience.
- A portfolio showcasing design process, leadership through problems, and decision-making under ambiguity.
- Fluency with AI-assisted tools such as Figma Make, Claude Code, and Replit, including effective prompting, custom workflow building, output evaluation, and refinement for design system and accessibility standards.
- Design experience with or a clear perspective on human oversight in agentic or AI-driven features, addressing accountability, transparency, and user control.
- Experience planning and leading end-to-end user research programs, including AI for synthesizing findings.
- Proficiency with Figma and related design/prototyping tools.
- Substantial experience working within and evolving a component-based design system.
- Strong working knowledge of accessibility standards and the ability to evaluate AI-generated components for compliance.
- Confidence representing design direction to senior stakeholders and driving cross-team initiatives without formal authority.
- Experience mentoring junior or intermediate designers with constructive feedback.
