About the Role

Active Tree Services is seeking experienced, professional subcontractors to partner on major vegetation management projects across the greater Sydney region. We offer consistent opportunities supporting critical infrastructure, including vegetation clearance and management near powerlines. This is an opportunity for small business owners to secure consistent, reliable projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs) safely and efficiently.
• Perform tree trimming near live electrical infrastructure.
• Conduct dismantling and hazard tree removal.
• Undertake broader vegetation management activities.
• Provide a fully competent EWP crew, including qualified operators and experienced tree cutters.
• Maintain all plant and equipment in safe working condition.
• Ensure full compliance with WHS, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Uphold high site safety standards while delivering quality outcomes.
• Mobilise and deliver projects across Sydney.
• Perform vegetation management and hazard tree removal works in accordance with regulations.
• Trim trees around the electrical network within the Ausgrid Contract.

Requirements

• Proven track record in arboriculture and vegetation management projects.
• Relevant industry experience, including work near powerlines (highly regarded).
• Current driver’s licence.
• EWP licence.
• Chainsaw qualifications.
• Ability to complete risk assessments and maintain site safety plans.
• Appropriate insurances and required certifications.
• Strong operational, organisational, and team leadership skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality delivery.
• White Card.
• First Aid/CPR.
• MR/HR Truck Licence.
• Experience with powerline clearance.
• Cert II in Electrical Supply Industry (ESI) – Vegetation Control Management.
• Ability to maintain high standards of site cleanliness and environmental responsibility.
• Operate professionally, prioritise safety, and take pride in delivering high-quality outcomes.
