About the Role
The Banque de France is recruiting a Data Scientist to join the Financial Savings and Securitization Service (SEFT) within the Directorate-General for Statistics, Economic Studies and International Affairs (DGSEI). This role contributes to the decision-making of the Banque de France's government by developing and disseminating positions on monetary and financial stability, and by exploiting, analyzing, and disseminating statistics.
Responsibilities
- Produce and analyze quarterly and annual insurance statistics for the ECB and manage related interactions with the ECB and ACPR.
- Implement changes to the service's processes and production chains in response to ECB regulations on insurance, new data processing mechanisms, and maintenance activities.
- Propose improvements and automation for data production and dissemination processes, and participate in their development.
- Represent the service in ECB working groups concerning the evolution of insurance statistics production methodologies.
- Migrate SAS programs to R or Python.
- Participate in the service's studies and analyses and draft related notes.
Requirements
- Graduated from an engineering school or higher education (Master 2) with a specialization in data science or statistics.
- Proficiency in R or Python programming languages.
- Experience with SAS software.
- Solid knowledge of IT and statistics.
- Skills or interest in insurance accounting.
- Good understanding of key economic and financial concepts.
- Autonomous, rigorous, responsive, and proactive.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
- B2 level English proficiency.
