About the Role

This casual Retail Assistant role at SIMON JOHNSON Alexandria offers an exciting opportunity to enhance the customer experience. The position requires a passion for food and customer service, with experience in food retail and an understanding of operating systems. Opportunities to be involved in demonstrations and events at the store's Wine Store, Cooking School, and Pastry Lab are available.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a memorable and meaningful customer experience.
• Build the customer base through high levels of customer service and extensive product knowledge.
• Maintain store cleanliness and presentation, including work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Adhere to Quality Assurance standards and programmes.
• Stock products on shelves and ensure correct labeling.
• Operate POS registers and calculate change manually when necessary.
• Availability required for weekdays and weekends.

Requirements

• Prior experience in food retail is viewed favorably.
• Experience in customer service-oriented roles.
• POS experience is an advantage.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Strong work ethic.
• Organizational and time management capabilities with a focus on multitasking and reprioritizing.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
