About the Role
As the Copywriter, you will define and lead L’Occitane product and marketing copy across platforms in the US and CANADA. This role involves writing product copy and copy for creative materials to create a highly engaged North American customer, requiring strong operational and communication skills to collaborate with various internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Solidify brand voice and tone, ensuring all copy aligns with brand guidelines.
- Write copy for all channels, including social media, e-mail, website, in-store, editorial, training, and other formats, to bring products and the L’Occitane brand to life.
- Collaborate with product, campaign, social, digital, and CRM teams for consistent brand positioning and voice.
- Strategize with omni-channel marketing, digital marketing, CRM, visual, and retail teams to ensure copy meets the needs of all customer touchpoints.
- Collaborate with global marketing during the pre-launch stage to influence packaging copy.
- Plan and execute a calendar for local copy development, delivering product copy, taglines, and communication strategies for new launches.
- Collaborate with the local regulatory team to ensure copy complies with legal parameters.
- Liaise with the Product Launch team and Regulatory to anticipate concerns and request necessary information from the lab.
- Research and share the latest beauty industry copy innovations, cultural trends, and linguistic styles with content stakeholders.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of experience in a product copywriting role, preferably in the beauty or retail industry.
- Adaptable tone and style across various channels and formats while maintaining a cohesive brand voice.
- Passion for retail and customer experience.
- Deep understanding of written storytelling strategy.
- Ability to translate company business goals into copy marketing priorities.
- Strong organizational skills and a track record of entrepreneurial projects and improvements.
- Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small mentality.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and cross-functionally with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with limited supervision and under tight timeframes.
- Intimate knowledge of industry writing trends.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
