About the Role
Zip is seeking a Solutions Architect to build the technical foundation for its ERP and integration ecosystem. This role involves internal technical enablement, architecting solutions for complex customer environments, collaborating with Product teams, and establishing best-in-class standards for integration workflows, with a focus on the SAP ecosystem. The architect will create reusable integration assets and define how the Zip product interacts with external systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and iterate on Zip-owned ERP and integration templates.
- Architect and standardize SAP integrations, including core SAP (ECC and S/4HANA) and Ariba integration templates.
- Align integration templates with core product architecture, field insights, and customer needs by collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) teams.
- Analyze complex customer implementations to identify reusable data mapping patterns and convert bespoke solutions into standardized internal assets.
- Partner with account teams during pre-sales to design and vet integration architectures.
- Define, document, and champion technical solution consulting best practices.
- Build expertise across multiple ERP ecosystems, becoming a subject matter expert on integration architecture, data models, and Zip’s App Studio.
- Design and execute solutions with an engineering mindset for scalable, effortless future implementations.
- Dive into API configurations and template modifications to ensure solutions are implemented correctly.
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on experience delivering integrations with SAP ERP environments (ECC, S/4HANA) or procurement platforms (Ariba).
- Strong foundational knowledge of core SAP business processes and data models within Materials Management (MM) and Financials (FI).
- Familiarity with standard SAP integration methods (IDocs, BAPI/RFC, OData APIs, SAP BTP/CPI).
- Experience working with XML / REST based endpoints and standard authentication protocols.
- Past ERP implementation, integration, configuration, or administration experience is required.
- Ability to translate highly technical information for audiences with varying technical knowledge.
- Comfortable working with API documentation.
- Comfortable testing and troubleshooting integration errors.
- Able to understand customer requirements and document information quickly with little oversight.
