About the Role
Rime is building a next-generation voice AI architecture using gRPC-first, heterogeneous model serving, and bidirectional streaming. This role requires engineers who can operate across layers of the stack, with a focus on clean interfaces and end-to-end systems understanding.
Responsibilities
- Develop platform APIs including authentication, billing, and account management.
- Implement feature work across the stack to support next-generation TTS and speech models.
- Handle integration and migration tasks, such as token-based authentication and new billing providers.
- Maintain and enhance the current TTS API stack.
- Build real-time, low-latency, horizontally scalable streaming speech infrastructure.
Requirements
- 5+ years of IC engineering experience with strong backend fundamentals.
- Proficiency in at least one low-level language: C++, Rust, or Go.
- Demonstrated systems-level thinking, understanding network, storage, and runtime layers.
- Ability to build clean interfaces and design for loose coupling.
- Comfortable navigating unfamiliar codebases and shipping independently.
- Strong async written communication skills.
