About the Role

Brex is seeking a technical owner for its external AI ecosystem, focusing on integrations, surfaces, and standards for customer interaction with Brex through third-party assistants and platforms. This role involves turning early integrations into stable, secure, and opinionated applications, designing how Brex data and actions are exposed, and managing permissions and auditability. Success is measured by actual usage, trust, and customer reliance.

Responsibilities

Own Brex's MCP Apps for OpenAI, Claude, Slack, and other embedders, including roadmap decisions.
Define technical, UX, and reliability standards for Brex's presence in external AI assistant ecosystems.
Design and maintain secure, auditable integration patterns for permissions, access, and user actions across third-party environments.
Build and operate production-grade integrations that remain resilient against evolving platforms and constraints.
Partner cross-functionally with Security, Platform, Sales, Enablement, and internal agent teams.
Serve as the center of excellence for reusable AI capabilities across Brex, defining and evangelizing standards and patterns.

Requirements

Experience building and owning production software, including systems integrating with third-party platforms.
Demonstrated technical ownership for user-facing products with external customers.
Deep experience with identity, authentication, and secure data access across system boundaries (OAuth, RBAC).
Proven ability to ship and operate reliable integrations with external APIs and clients outside your control.
Strong product judgment, written communication, and end-to-end ownership.
