About the Role
IES Residential is seeking a Safety Coordinator to lead and enhance safety culture across operations in Austin, Texas and surrounding markets. This role focuses on protecting teams, shaping job site practices, and championing safety.
Responsibilities
- Lead job site safety inspections and proactively identify risks
- Partner with leadership to build and reinforce a safety-first mindset
- Deliver engaging safety trainings and lead impactful toolbox talks
- Investigate incidents and drive solutions that prevent future risks
- Support and participate in OSHA inspections
- Serve as the go-to safety expert for both field teams and management
- Communicate safety policies clearly and effectively across all levels
- Monitor compliance with company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices
- Assist with safety documentation, reporting, and corrective action follow-up
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- 5+ years of safety experience (construction experience preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance
- OSHA 500 Certification (preferred)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to influence, lead, and collaborate across teams
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required
- Residential or commercial construction industry experience
- First Aid/CPR Instructor certification
- Strong leadership presence and interpersonal skills
- Experience conducting safety training and incident investigations
- Walk and inspect job sites for extended periods
- Climb, bend, kneel, and navigate active construction environments
- Lift up to 25–50 lbs occasionally
- Wear required PPE at all times on job sites
- Maintain strong visual and hearing awareness for hazard recognition
