About the Role

Community Housing Innovations (CHI) is seeking a Housing Supervisor to oversee the review and submission of housing packets for CURRENT and DHS programs. This role involves managing a team of specialists and ensuring efficient service delivery to clients, contributing to CHI's mission of supporting social and economic independence through quality housing.

Responsibilities

• Review and ensure the accuracy of housing packets for submission to HOME, CAPS, Current, The Rental Supplement Unit and other DHS programs.
• Conduct 1 to 1 and group meetings with team members, updating performance goals, accomplishments, notes, and feedback in Paycom.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including governmental agencies and community partners.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective service delivery to clients.
• Monitor program compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
• Lead team meetings to discuss program updates, challenges, and best practices.
• Assist in the development and implementation of program policies and procedures.
• Participate in strategic planning to improve program outcomes and client satisfaction.
• Manage workshops and outreach programs.
• Attend housing meetings, trainings and workshops at/by DHS.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Maintain charts, files, and housing paperwork in an orderly fashion.
• Maintain clinical appropriateness.

Requirements

• Must have at least two years’ experience working in a related field such as homelessness or housing.
• Must have at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
• In lieu of educational requirements, at least 5 years of experience with housing programs, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Must have working knowledge and insight into NYC housing resources including experience helping people find affordable housing and working with different NYC and NY State agencies and programs that facilitate permanent housing goals including CURRENT and DHS programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and the internet.
• Ability to formulate simple financial budgets.
• Ability to make home visits (walk distances, climb several flights of stairs, etc.).
• Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls.
• Ability to relate to the underserved, homeless and disabled populations.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team, be highly organized, assume responsibility, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of DHS-CARES.
• Proficiency in English.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.

• Tuesday - Saturday, 9am-5pm (Sunday & Monday off)

Experience Level

Education Level

• Bachelor’s Degree in human services or related field required.
