About the Role

The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for the performance and profitability of the Berlin, NJ and Wilton, NH facilities. This role also manages the daily coordination of production and support services, including HR, safety, shipping, maintenance, and administrative functions.

Responsibilities

  • Staffs, develops, and coaches the operations, production, and administrative management team, evaluates performance and initiates corrective action as required.
  • Evaluates plant(s)’s performance to budget and plans and initiates corrective action as required.
  • Ensures that all plant(s) assets are properly managed and safeguarded.
  • Ensures plant(s) meets operating budgets and ROI expectations.
  • Develops and/or approves production objectives, goals, and operating short and long-term plans.
  • Ensures that job classifications and compensation levels are relevant to the labor market and in line with cost goals.
  • Leads the operation’s new product development initiatives.
  • Ensures that finished goods’ pricing is optimal to ensure maximum profitability levels for the plant(s).
  • Responsible for product costing and burden accuracy.
  • Responsible for optimizing operations - cuts and yields, to maximize the “mfg. for margin” opportunities.
  • Approves account payables and payroll.
  • Develops and/or approves specific operating policies and procedures as required.
  • Ensures the operation(s) complies with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations and all Company policies and procedures.
  • Participates as an active member of the plant Safety Committee and ensures that plant(s) operations are consistent with Company and OSHA policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Prepares various reports as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Develops a strategy for controlling and minimizing aged inventory.
  • Coordinates Physical Inventory planning.
  • Participates in random cycle counts.
  • Evaluates cycle counter discrepancies.
  • Reviews and/or approves Invoice Registers.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of work experience as a plant manager.
  • Experience with light gauge products, preferably roof/truss and wall panels.
  • Preferred experience and knowledge of UFP’s organization, culture, and product lines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Planner (it's a Project Management tool).
  • Develops operating budgets and capex recommendations.

Salary/Compensations

  • Starting base pay- $85,000 - $125,000 annually dependent on experience
  • Annual performance bonus opportunity based on Company and specific business unit ROI and PBOP achievement criteria and individual job responsibility and performance.
