About the Role

Make-A-Wish Canada creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. This role will lead the delivery and ongoing enhancement of the wish family engagement program across Canada, helping to create meaningful experiences for wish families and stewarding them post-wish.

Responsibilities

  • Lead wish family engagement requests from intake through fulfillment.
  • Develop and enhance processes, standards, and tools to support high-quality family engagement.
  • Manage multiple priorities while delivering responsive, family-centered support.
  • Design and deliver meaningful, trauma-informed post-wish engagement experiences.
  • Build trusted relationships with alumni families and serve as a key contact for ongoing engagement opportunities.
  • Assess and prepare families for ambassador, storytelling, and public-facing opportunities.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, matching, and stewardship of Wish Family Ambassadors.
  • Collaborate on the collection and sharing of wish stories and videos.
  • Manage post-wish surveys, including distribution, analysis, and reporting of insights.
  • Foster alumni engagement through community-building initiatives and online platforms.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on engagement activities, outcomes, and trends.
  • Partner with internal teams to deliver engagement initiatives that balance organizational goals and family well-being.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education in social services, communications, public relations, or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in a not-for-profit environment, including senior-level coordination or leadership of programs or mission-related service delivery.
  • Experience developing processes, managing multiple stakeholders, administering surveys, preparing reports, and working with sensitive stories or vulnerable populations.
  • A clear Criminal Background Check is required.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to navigate difficult conversations or sensitive subjects with empathy.
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
  • Experience in a national or multi-regional organization is an asset.

  • $64,000-$70,000
