About the Role

Roth IAMS is seeking a Facility Assessor to conduct on-site assessments of building systems, collect data, and prepare detailed reports. This role involves managing project timelines and costs, providing client support, and assisting with various audits and reviews. You will be part of a team working on projects from initiation to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Independently carry out Roof, Envelope, Structural and Architectural building systems and/or Mechanical & Electrical on-site visual assessment and investigation, and/or Site Surface and underground infrastructure systems on-site visual assessment, investigation; including liaison with clients as needed
  • Utilize proprietary software for data collection and reporting, such as SLAM CAP, VFA, facility, and AssetPlanner
  • Independently review drawings for quantity take-offs and prepare multi-discipline Facility Condition Assessments (FCAs), reserve fund studies, capital planning projects, technical/building audits or other investigative reports complete with observations, conclusions, recommendations, and repair budgets
  • Maintain a high level of report quality, ensuring technical and grammatical correctness and adherence to company report formats
  • Ensure draft documents meet the standards expected by the Project Manager and Peer Reviewer, allowing sufficient time for review and edits
  • Manage time and project costs to ensure project profitability
  • Complete inventory of building systems, including collecting relevant information (e.g., Make, Model, Serial Number) and applying an equipment tag with a bar code or QR code

Requirements

  • Graduate of a relevant College or University-Level Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Civil/Structural or Building Science related Program
  • Related Facility Assessment or industry experience
  • Knowledge of construction materials and products, building components, material deterioration mechanisms and repair and restoration methods
  • Excellent technical writing skills, with reporting that is concise, follows company formats, and is based on project-specific evidence
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Effective, responsive communication (verbally and written)
  • Willingness to work at heights, including climbing ladders and accessing rooftops
  • A valid G driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle for travel to project sites
  • Ability to travel for up to a week at a time
