About the Role
As a System Lead Engineer, you will be a key technical advisor to customers and the Jabil development team, leading fast-paced engineering projects from concept through production. You will provide technical input, make critical decisions impacting product quality, and mentor technical staff while staying abreast of the latest technologies.
Responsibilities
- Key technical advisor to customers and the Jabil development team.
- Lead execution of fast-paced engineering projects, owning delivery from concept through production.
- Provide technical input to help identify and solve project risks that may affect overall project plans and schedules.
- Make critical decisions impacting product quality, features, and customer experience.
- Work with Project Managers in the quoting and estimating process.
- Mentor of all technical/engineering staff.
- Stay abreast of the latest technology and techniques to provide designs that are competitive and cost effective.
- Work with Site Directors to define potential R&D project proposals that will help increase areas of competencies needed.
- Lead the development and implementation of platform and product architectures in collaboration with senior technical staff.
- Guide and oversee the development of system component requirements, interfaces, and specifications necessary to maintain the consistency and integrity of the architectures.
- Manage product design and documentation at a system level.
- Effectively consult on multiple projects in parallel.
- Deliver technical presentations, training, and ongoing customer engagement, including regular meetings and onsite support.
- Support global engagement with up to 10% of travel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 11-12 years of related engineering experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Lead Engineer.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in multi-site and multi-cultural environments.
- Proven ability to work within a fast-paced and ambiguous business environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel up to 10% both International and Domestic.
Skills
- Expertise with the architecture, design, configuration, and deployment of server, storage, and networking systems.
- Strong technical skills and the ability to translate customer requirements into technical solutions.
- Working knowledge of server products including embedded remote management standards, interfaces, and applications.
- Expertise into all aspects of server and storage system performance, including raw synthetic and application proxy workloads, performance analysis, debug and optimization from the device to the application level.
- Facilitation of test results databases and visualization technologies to enable rapid decision making and conclusions.
- Expertise with Linux operating systems, related applications, and script development.
- Master's degree in engineering or equivalent is preferred.
- Proven ability to work within a fast-paced and ambiguous business environment is preferred.
- Experience working in multi-site and multi-cultural environments is preferred.
