About the Role

Ads on Twitch are a unique challenge, offering an opportunity to define the next generation of live-stream advertising. This role involves leading multiple teams to build native ad experiences, owning the technical vision, and directly impacting revenue and senior leadership visibility. The position requires formulating opinions based on first-principles understanding, navigating ambiguity, and leading autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Own the engineering strategy for ad products across multiple teams
Make architectural decisions for ad serving, targeting, and measurement in a live-streaming context
Build and develop managers, fostering a culture of continuous engineering improvement
Partner with product, sales, and operations to balance advertiser needs with viewer and creator experience
Set quality and velocity standards grounded in data

Requirements

7+ years managing software engineering teams, with at least 1 year managing other managers
Shipped consumer-facing products in a high-growth, fast-changing environment
Experience growing and retaining engineering talent
Strong technical skills for credibility with senior engineers and architectural tradeoffs
Ability to build a strong engineering culture focused on technical innovation, high velocity, customer impact, and cross-functional collaboration

Skills

Ads products experience (ad serving, targeting, measurement, or advertiser-facing tools)
Live or real-time media environments experience
Operating with high autonomy in ambiguous, fast-moving organizations
