About the Role

The Test Engineer is responsible for executing product validation activities that confirm hardware, firmware, and system behavior meets requirements and customer expectations. This role focuses on disciplined test execution, accurate results capture, effective defect ownership, and contribution to broader validation coverage and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned validation test cases across functional, performance, environmental, integration, or related scopes according to the project plan and test strategy.
  • Record test results accurately, capture configurations and evidence, and highlight anomalies, blockers, and risks in a timely manner.
  • Create clear, high-quality defect reports with appropriate logs, reproduction details, and supporting data; verify fixes and reopen issues when required.
  • Maintain systems under test, lab setups, firmware/OS images, connectivity, tooling readiness, and other environment needs required for successful execution.
  • Support creation and refinement of test cases, scripts, and automation contributions where applicable to improve validation efficiency and coverage.
  • Work closely with Development, Systems, Product Validation, and related teams to support root cause analysis and closure of product issues.
  • Participate in readiness reviews, status reporting, and execution planning with the Test Lead and project team.
  • Contribute ideas that improve test methodology, coverage quality, lab efficiency, and team knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in validation, testing, system integration, or engineering execution roles.
  • Working knowledge of test methodologies, issue tracking, and validation execution practices for hardware and/or firmware products.
  • Familiarity with server, storage, networking, BIOS/BMC, or system-level validation is preferred.
  • Experience with scripting, test automation, lab tools, or infrastructure management is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
