About the Role
Arcadis is seeking an Entry-Level Geologist or Environmental Scientist to join our team in Melville, NY. This role involves significant fieldwork (75%-95%) and supports environmental assessment and remediation projects, particularly in emerging contaminants. Candidates graduating in May 2026 are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Execute environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
- Oversee drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation.
- Perform groundwater sampling.
- Provide subcontractor oversight.
- Manage operation and maintenance of remediation systems.
- Conduct vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys.
- Ensure fieldwork is conducted with a focus on health and safety.
- Oversee the work of subcontractors.
- Write and prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
- Conduct field work including soil, groundwater, and/or vapor sampling.
- Perform regional business travel for fieldwork up to 1-2 days per week on average.
- Travel within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time, a few times per year.
- Analyze data and prepare reports during limited office work.
