About the Role

The Commercial Insights / Analytics Manager is a senior, business-facing role responsible for converting complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive strategic, commercial, and operational decisions. This role partners closely with executive leadership, commercial teams, finance, and operations to shape priorities, optimize pricing and margins, evaluate performance, and enable KPI-driven management. The role goes beyond reporting—acting as a thought partner to leadership by framing the right questions, synthesizing insights across data sources, and influencing decisions with clear business narratives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to commercial and executive leaders by translating data into strategic insights and recommendations
  • Support annual planning, forecasting, and long-range strategy through customer, market, pricing, and profitability analysis
  • Identify growth, margin, and productivity opportunities through structured analysis and scenario modeling
  • Own the design, tracking, and interpretation of core commercial KPIs (e.g., revenue, margin, pricing, mix, customer profitability, pipeline, churn)
  • Lead regular performance reviews (monthly/quarterly) and provide insightful narratives on results, risks, and opportunities
  • Drive clarity and alignment on performance drivers, trade-offs, and root causes
  • Partner with pricing, finance, and commercial teams to evaluate pricing strategies, discounting, and margin leakage
  • Analyze customer, product, and channel profitability to inform segmentation, investment decisions, and deal economics
  • Support cases for commercial initiatives, pricing changes, and strategic investments
  • Guide the development of dashboards and reporting that are insight-led, decision‑oriented, and executive-ready
  • Ensure analytical outputs are focused on “so what?”, not just metrics
  • Translate advanced analytics or data science outputs into practical business implications
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Data teams
  • Influence priorities without direct authority through data-driven storytelling and structured recommendations
  • Act as a bridge between technical analytics teams and business leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Analytics, Engineering, or a related analytical field
  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in commercial analytics, business intelligence, strategy, finance, or a related function, with significant business‑facing responsibility
  • Exposure to CRM, ERP, and commercial systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Proven experience translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that influence senior leadership decisions
  • Strong understanding of commercial performance drivers, including revenue, margin, pricing, mix, customer profitability, and sales pipeline dynamics
  • Hands‑on experience supporting strategic planning, forecasting, and performance management processes
  • Demonstrated experience with pricing, discounting, margin analysis, and profitability analytics at customer, product, and/or channel level
  • Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to structure ambiguous business questions and develop data‑driven recommendations
  • Excellent executive‑level communication skills, including the ability to craft clear narratives, recommendations, and implications from analysis
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with a track record of influencing cross‑functional partners without direct authority
  • Experience working with dashboards, reporting tools, and analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL, or equivalent)
  • High level of business acumen with a practical, outcomes‑oriented mindset
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Analytics, Economics, Finance, or a quantitative discipline
  • Experience in a global, matrixed, or multi‑region commercial organization
  • Background in pricing strategy, revenue management, or advanced commercial finance
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics techniques (e.g., predictive modeling, segmentation, scenario modeling), with the ability to translate outputs into business actions
  • Prior experience leading or influencing analytics or insights teams (directly or indirectly)
  • Experience partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Operations leaders
  • Strong change‑management skills and experience driving adoption of KPI‑driven management and standardized performance reviews
  • Industry experience in B2B, manufacturing, life sciences, technology, or another complex commercial environment
