About the Role
The Alarm Service Technician is a hands-on role responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships by installing, servicing, and inspecting low-voltage electronic security equipment at customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, and inspect low-voltage electronic security equipment.
- Troubleshoot technical problems with alarm systems.
- Replace system components such as panels and peripheral devices.
- Drive to customer homes to perform service.
- Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems.
- Educate and train customers on system operation.
- Conduct site evaluations with customers to review work orders.
- Install and test equipment operations for proper functionality and signal verification.
- Recommend opportunities to improve system use and functionality.
- Maintain safety practices to prevent injury and property damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and job site.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Good driving record and valid driver's license.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of alarm system operation.
- Willingness to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Willingness to work in tight spaces such as crawlspaces, attics, and basements.
- Low-voltage license or alarm installation certification.
- NICET I certification.
Skills
- Experience with Alarm panels such as: 2GIG, Qolsys, Ademco, GE, DSC, DMP, and others.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems.
- Customer education and training.
- System demonstration.
- Site evaluation.
- Equipment installation and testing.
- Signal verification.
