About the Role

As a Cyber Risk Services Manager at Travelers Europe, you'll assess the cybersecurity position, risk management practices, and business continuity of clients. You will work closely with underwriting teams to deliver risk opinions, conduct assessments, produce reports, and leverage knowledge of claims trends. This role also involves shaping data usage and audit findings to enhance client value, improve retention, and strategically evolve the Risk Control function. You will be hands-on with risk assessment and work strategically to improve data or consider new assessment approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed and accurate cyber risk advice to assist underwriters with risk selection and pricing, including evaluation of remediation measures following a cyber incident.
  • Participate in underwriting meetings with agents, brokers, and prospective insureds.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats for policyholders.
  • Analyze and evaluate existing cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to support recommendations.
  • Develop and deliver actionable recommendations to policyholders on how to mitigate cyber risks.
  • Assist cyber claims teams when domain-specific expertise would improve claim handling or incident response.
  • Develop programs and manage resources to help insureds understand and mitigate cyber risks.
  • Track developments in the cyber insurance industry, including consultation in the development of cyber insurance products and services.
  • Identify emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities and evaluate their potential impact.
  • Provide support to enterprise CAT teams in evaluating cyber aggregation risks and responding to cyber aggregation events.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing Cyber Risk Advisory services and develop new offerings.
  • Develop training and education programs related to cyber risks, emerging threats, and mitigation.
  • Assist in delivering training to underwriters.
  • Research, develop, and prepare relevant materials for external publication.
  • Represent Travelers at industry events and thought leadership forums.
  • Develop underwriting tools and augmented underwriting opportunities.
  • Conduct continuous client network monitoring outreach and support.
  • Build cross-functional relationships, including retaining close proximity to the Risk Control team in Travelers US.
  • Develop standards and success measurements for Risk Control services.

Requirements

  • Technically strong Cyber IT professional who can audit a client's cyber environment and have peer-level conversations about risks and investments.
  • Present with confidence in one-on-one settings and at conferences.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Experience in a technical advisory capacity at a broker, carrier, or reinsurer is preferred.
  • General knowledge of risk management process.

Experience Level

  • Five years’ experience in IT Risk Management, Cybersecurity, or other applicable information security disciplines.

Education Level

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • Certification in or advanced knowledge of industry standards/regulations (NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS, GDPR, etc.).
  • One industry standard information security certifications required (e.g., CISSP, CRISC, CISA, CSX, CFE, PCI); multiple certifications preferred.
