About the Role
Spend your summer leading, mentoring, and making memories that last a lifetime as a Unit Counselor at Camp Addisone Boyce. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children, enjoying the outdoors, and seeking a meaningful job. You will serve as a mentor, role model, and adventure guide, creating an unforgettable camp experience for girls while developing your own leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Build meaningful connections with campers and create a supportive, inclusive environment.
- Lead and participate in fun, engaging outdoor and camp activities.
- Teach basic camping skills and foster a love for nature.
- Help campers grow in confidence, independence, and teamwork.
- Support daily routines including cabin life, meals, and camp responsibilities.
- Ensure camper safety and well-being at all times.
- Assist with waterfront activities and swimming.
- Collaborate with your team to plan and deliver memorable camp experiences.
- Participate in weekly Thursday overnight programming.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Current high school student, graduate, or equivalent.
- Experience working with children or willingness to learn through training.
- Positive attitude, energy, and a team-player mindset.
- Passion for youth development and the outdoors.
- Able to stay active for long periods in an outdoor setting.
- Comfortable walking on uneven terrain.
- Able to lift/carry 15+ lbs.
