About the Role

Join Oxford Instruments as a Field Service Engineer, installing, maintaining, and elevating cutting-edge microscopy systems. This role is ideal for those who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, traveling, and impacting scientific progress.

Responsibilities

  • Own system installs & commissioning — set up advanced microscopy platforms and train users.
  • Keep systems at peak performance — deliver expert preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and resolve them onsite or remotely.
  • Build strong customer relationships through confident communication, clear training, and dependable support.
  • Upgrade & optimize systems — calibrate components and implement performance-boosting enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Life Science, or similar.
  • 3–5 years of field service experience with microscopy or analytical instruments.
  • Skilled with multimeters, oscilloscopes, schematics, and Windows systems.
  • Physically capable of working in tight spaces and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license, passport, and willingness to travel Monday–Friday.
