About the Role

The Solution Consultant (SC) is a subject matter expert focused primarily on supporting pre-sales activities. Leveraging deep expertise in our Chemistry solutions and strong commercial acumen, you will work closely with Sales to uncover customer needs, design tailored solutions and demonstrate value. In post-sales scenarios, you will partner with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) when specialist knowledge is required to address complex solution queries or deliver technical training. You will not own the day-to-day customer relationship so must be highly skilled in making deep, meaningful relationships quickly, to play a critical role in both commercial and customer success outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Be the go-to expert for Sales teams, collaborating to uncover customer challenges and craft tailored solution strategies that drive business impact
  • Deliver tailored demonstrations and workshops that translate product capabilities into business outcomes
  • Act as a trusted advisor offering subject matter expertise to shape deals and solution approaches
  • Step in when CSMs escalate cases requesting advanced Chemistry solution knowledge
  • Support CSMs with deep product knowledge to drive adoption, optimize usage and address complex customer questions
  • Deliver advanced demos, technical deep-dives and workshops as required
  • Act as a conduit between customers, Sales, Advanced Data Solutions, Customer Success and Product teams, providing feedback that informs product development and roadmap decisions
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, customer requirements and emerging technologies
  • Develop processes and materials that enhance the pre and post sales experience
  • Manage multiple customer engagements and internal requests effectively, prioritizing tasks to ensure timely delivery of solutions and support

Requirements

  • Track record of success in similar customer-facing roles such as consulting, customer success or account management, ideally in B2B or SaaS environments
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biotechnology or a related field
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills at all levels
  • An analytical and consultative mindset, able to quickly grasp complex requirements and deliver actionable recommendations
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills to balance competing demands
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills for building trust and collaborating across teams
  • Additional language skills beyond English would be beneficial
