Responsibilities

  • Extend EMI model implementation in the Kaskade 7 finite element package for inclusion of more complex ionic models and statistical models of calcium dynamics.
  • Conduct simulations in different regimes and extract relevant correlations.
  • Publish findings in international journals.
  • Present findings at conferences.

  • A completed master’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, mathematics, or related disciplines, or equivalent knowledge and experience acquired through relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in modern C++ software development including template programming.
  • Practical experience with the implementation of numerical algorithms for partial differential equations (finite element methods, iterative solvers, Runge-Kutta time stepping) and corresponding software, in particular the DUNE libraries.
  • Detailed knowledge of electrophysiology models, in particular stochastic calcium dynamics.
  • Proven ability for international and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
