About the Role

Advisors & Consulting Services (A&CS) is Mastercard’s global consulting and execution arm, focused on helping clients solve complex business challenges and realize measurable value from Mastercard’s data, products, and platforms. Deploy is a core execution capability within A&CS, focused on the technical and operational delivery of Mastercard solutions for clients. This role is responsible for driving end-to-end project execution—coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines, dependencies, and risks, and acting as the primary day-to-day delivery lead for the client.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of multiple technical projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, scope, quality, and budget are actively controlled.
  • Act as the primary day-to-day delivery lead for client stakeholders, maintaining clear communication, expectations, and confidence.
  • Plan and manage integrated delivery schedules, dependencies, and milestones across parallel workstreams and teams.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Solutions Architects, engineers, product specialists, vendors, and client delivery teams.
  • Drive technical delivery governance, including status reporting, RAID management, action tracking, and escalation.
  • Lead regular project ceremonies and forums (weekly delivery calls, checkpoints, SteerCo inputs, and readiness reviews).
  • Ensure delivery readiness by supporting scope definition, resourcing plans, onboarding of team members, and transition from pre-engagement into delivery.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate delivery risks and constraints, balancing client priorities with technical and operational realities.
  • Track and manage commercial and contractual considerations, including effort burn, change control, and alignment to agreed statements of work.
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality, predictability, and outcomes, ensuring deliverables meet agreed acceptance criteria.
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to ensure delivery aligns with Deploy standards, best practices, and ways of working.
  • Support continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and contributing to the refinement of delivery frameworks and playbooks.
  • Manage bilingual stakeholder engagement across Japanese client teams and regional or global stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering multiple concurrent technical projects in a client-facing environment, ideally within financial services, payments, digital platforms, or regulated industries.
  • Strong background in technical project management, coordinating engineering, architecture, product, and third-party teams across complex delivery landscapes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing API-led integrations, platform implementations, or digital channel builds, with the ability to engage confidently on technical topics.
  • Solid understanding of software delivery lifecycles, delivery governance, and structured execution in both agile and hybrid delivery models.
  • Experience operating within regulated environments, with awareness of risk, compliance, and governance expectations (e.g. banking or payments).
  • Track record of managing delivery risk, dependencies, and change control across parallel workstreams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with client, technical, and senior internal stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting or managing commercial aspects of delivery, including effort tracking, scope management, and change requests.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively across competing demands and shifting client priorities.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a client-embedded or hybrid delivery model.
  • Based in Japan with the ability to work on-site with the client as required.
  • Business-level Japanese and English communication skills, with the ability to work across local and regional teams.
  • Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed.
  • Report any suspected information security violation or breach.
  • Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
