About the Role

Red Hat is seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect to join their Public sector team. This role involves leading customer transformations by leveraging extensive IT knowledge and open-source technologies to co-create future architectural visions. You will act as a "Trusted Advisor" to C-level executives and IT leaders, addressing core business challenges and supporting comprehensive transformations that include technology, processes, and organizational culture. The position emphasizes adopting new mechanisms and ideas to drive IT operations in rapidly changing Japanese businesses, balancing the "defensive IT" of stable operations and cost optimization with "offensive IT" through digital transformation, AI, and containerization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling business value and storytelling based on customer business needs and evidence.
  • Propose solutions and envision transformations to management.
  • Understand customer's mid-to-long-term business and IT strategies, considering industry trends, regulations, and challenges to formulate IT strategies and roadmaps.
  • Lead account planning with sales teams, linking business challenges with technical solutions.
  • Design and propose architectures and processes that balance "offensive IT" (DX, AI, cloud-native) and "defensive IT" (efficiency, automation of existing assets).
  • Support the conceptualization of next-generation platforms for AI utilization, considering governance and security.
  • Host discovery sessions and workshops to identify and define potential customer challenges.
  • Define optimal solutions using Red Hat's portfolio (RHEL, OpenShift, Ansible, middleware, AI, etc.) based on customer challenges, not just products.
  • Demonstrate technical feasibility through Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and demos.
  • Build strong trust with customer executives (CxO, IT leaders) and support business transformation decision-making from a technical perspective.
  • Collaborate with internal and external experts (product development, global teams, partners) to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Systematize successful cases and technical knowledge, sharing them with domestic and global teams to improve overall organizational technical capabilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience in system proposal, consulting, design, and construction for enterprise customers, gained at vendors, SIers, consulting firms, or corporations.
  • Ability to build relationships with customer CxOs and department heads.
  • Skills in interviewing/discovery, consulting sales, and presentation.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
  • Broad knowledge of enterprise technology stacks and architectures, including virtualization, cloud, containers, storage, RDBMS, middleware, ERP, data integration/APIs, high availability configurations, and AI.

Skills

  • Pre-sales/Architect experience
  • Excellent communication
  • Broad enterprise technology stack/architecture knowledge
  • Proactive learning and practice mindset
  • Will and execution power for transformation
  • Empathy and contribution to an open culture
