About the Role

VitalCheck Wellness is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant/Licensed Vocational Nurse with phlebotomy experience to work in a corporate wellness clinic in San Francisco, CA. This role involves primary care, preventive care, and urgent care, offering an opportunity to implement new ideas while providing high-quality patient care and education.

Responsibilities

  • Perform front and back office duties.
  • Handle receptionist and administrative tasks.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for patients, completing assessments and vital signs.
  • Discuss and consult on patient health history, diagnosis, and needs.
  • Coordinate follow-up care and schedule appointments/referrals.
  • Educate patients on necessary follow-up care steps.
  • Manage referrals, including confirming insurance coverage.
  • Support physicians, nurses, and physical therapists.
  • Prepare and break down examination rooms.
  • Accurately perform specimen collection (phlebotomy, urine, etc.).
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.

Requirements

  • Hold a clean, active certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA) or an LPN with a clean, active license issued by the California Board of Nursing (CABON).
  • Possess active BLS/ACLS certification.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical management, coordination, or healthcare operations.
  • Experience as a medical receptionist or medical assistant with call and scheduling experience is desirable.
  • Demonstrate a preventive medicine orientation and ability to adapt to change.
  • Required phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience administering vaccines is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with minimal guidance.
  • Highly proficient with computers.
  • Customer service-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to reliably commute to San Francisco, CA 94105.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
