About the Role
The Capital Markets Financial Analyst will support transactions generated by Cushman & Wakefield’s Investment Sales brokerage services specializing in multifamily investments. The primary role involves performing financial analysis activities including pricing, Excel valuation model creation and auditing, due diligence collection and review, and market data collection. The analyst will translate findings into high-level summaries under the guidance of senior team members.
Responsibilities
- Support the execution of financial analysis and valuation modeling requests, including scenario analyses.
- Prepare pro forma statements, discounted cash flow analyses, and Excel-based financial models.
- Conduct audits of existing financial models for accuracy and assumption validity.
- Perform research on financial reports, comparable properties, and market data; synthesize findings.
- Develop high-level analysis summaries identifying transaction considerations, trends, and inconsistencies.
- Assist with drafting Offering Memorandums, Broker Opinion of Value, and Request for Proposals.
- Communicate professionally with clients during the sales process.
- Demonstrate continuous development of cash flow and Excel-modeling skills.
- Prepare clear, concise summary documentation and spreadsheets for client presentations.
- Review tenant leases to abstract key data points and identify impacts on financial analysis.
- Maintain owner database and track loan maturities for Business Development.
- Maintain rent and sales comp database.
- Review analyses with the deal team and make revisions.
- Participate in internal and external stakeholder meetings to present and discuss analyses.
- May assist with market research of prospective transactions.
- Participate in broker team calls and meetings as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required or requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or a related field is preferred.
- A combination of education without a degree and corporate work experience may be considered.
- 0-2 years of financial analysis and Excel modeling experience.
- Capital Markets and/or multifamily underwriting experience is a plus.
- Client-service oriented mindset with a passion for producing high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel is a plus.
- Experience with Salesforce, CoStar, and Axiometrics market research data is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to write effectively and succinctly for marketing deliverables or internal stakeholders.
- Good time management and organization skills.
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Growth-oriented mindset, desire to learn, and willingness to share knowledge.
