About the Role
As a Preschool & Recreational Gymnastics Coach, you will create a fun and engaging environment for children to learn and grow through gymnastics. You will lead classes, foster a positive and safe atmosphere, and ensure students are progressing and enjoying their classes. This role involves communicating with parents about their child's progress and facility events.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging gymnastics lessons following curriculum and themes.
- Focus on skill development, building children's confidence, and creating a fun, imaginative environment.
- Monitor student development for appropriate program placement.
- Celebrate student achievements to inspire continued growth and confidence.
- Keep families informed about child's progress and upcoming events.
- Foster a welcoming and supportive connection with parents.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility.
- Participate in Advancement Shows, Parent’s Night Out, and Camp Jump!.
- Promote Jump!'s culture of fun and learning.
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented atmosphere among staff.
Requirements
- Experience in gymnastics, dance, cheer, yoga, or a related sport.
- Previous childcare experience (babysitting, caring for younger siblings, or similar roles count).
- Dedicated and committed to coaching all assigned classes.
- A positive attitude and a passion for working with kids.
- Comfortable with incorporating thematics into classes, including telling stories, dressing up, and engaging in creative activities.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Commitment to a consistent evening and Saturday schedule for a minimum of one year.
- Must be able to work a minimum of two shifts a week from 3PM-8PM and Saturdays from 8:30AM-3PM.
- Ability to see and hear clearly 20 yards away.
- Ability to provide sustained attention to students during class time in the gym.
- Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, and climb onto a spotting block to assist athletes.
- Ability to spot a gymnast, including the strength to lift and carry at minimum 50 pounds.
- Ability to move equipment, including the strength to push or pull at minimum 50 pounds.
- Must have the physical ability to respond quickly to emergencies, such as evacuating children or performing CPR/first aid if necessary.
