About the Role
Emergence is seeking an M&A / Investment Professional to support the investment diligence cycle from start to close, including target evaluation, thesis alignment, and post-investment integration planning.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive financial and operational due diligence to identify risks and opportunities.
- Develop and present retention analyses to understand the health of existing customers and potential deal pipeline.
- Analyze unit economics, key SaaS KPIs, and operating leverage of target opportunities.
- Facilitate quality of earnings analyses to assess the financial health and sustainability of potential acquisitions.
- Understand the net working capital bridge and indebtedness definitions to ensure accurate valuation adjustments.
- Synthesize and assess the outcomes of negotiations on complex majority buyout transaction terms and structures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure seamless deal execution.
- Prepare detailed financial models and valuation reports to support decision-making.
- Prepare holistic Investment Committee Memos outlining critical diligence findings.
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on in-depth analysis of potential deals.
Requirements
- 3+ years of deal-related experience in private equity, corporate development, investment banking, or management consulting, ideally with a focus on enterprise software / B2B SaaS.
- Highly analytical and organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Passionate about investing, with a strong understanding of fundamental business analysis, and an outstanding academic and professional record.
