About the Role

DCI Engineers is seeking a Structural Engineering Project Manager in our New York City office to lead complex building projects, mentor junior engineers, collaborate across teams, and develop lasting client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Manager for building structural projects, with full responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Lead projects through all phases, including design, bid, and construction administration.
  • Lead and mentor a team of junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with BIM Designers to coordinate design details and construction document requirements.
  • Develop workload and scheduling projections for project staff.
  • Coordinate shop drawing review during construction.
  • Assist in preparing fee proposals and contracts.
  • Manage billing and evaluate additional service requests.
  • Coordinate permit responses and construction support.
  • Act as the primary client contact, maintaining and expanding relationships.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of structural engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of project management experience.
  • PE license.
  • Proficient in RISA, RAM, ETABS/SAFE or similar structural design software.
  • Experience designing and managing projects using steel, concrete, wood, and masonry, for new and existing buildings.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects.
  • Ability to balance technical involvement with project management responsibilities.
  • Experience leading and mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with BIM Designers.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget tracking, forecasting, and resource planning.
  • Desire to provide excellent service and build long-term client relationships.
  • Strong communication skills with clients and internal project teams.
