About the Role
DCI Engineers is seeking a Structural Engineering Project Manager in our New York City office to lead complex building projects, mentor junior engineers, collaborate across teams, and develop lasting client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Manager for building structural projects, with full responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Lead projects through all phases, including design, bid, and construction administration.
- Lead and mentor a team of junior engineers.
- Collaborate with BIM Designers to coordinate design details and construction document requirements.
- Develop workload and scheduling projections for project staff.
- Coordinate shop drawing review during construction.
- Assist in preparing fee proposals and contracts.
- Manage billing and evaluate additional service requests.
- Coordinate permit responses and construction support.
- Act as the primary client contact, maintaining and expanding relationships.
Requirements
- 6+ years of structural engineering experience.
- 2+ years of project management experience.
- PE license.
- Proficient in RISA, RAM, ETABS/SAFE or similar structural design software.
- Experience designing and managing projects using steel, concrete, wood, and masonry, for new and existing buildings.
- Strong time management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Ability to balance technical involvement with project management responsibilities.
- Experience leading and mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with BIM Designers.
- Strong financial acumen, including budget tracking, forecasting, and resource planning.
- Desire to provide excellent service and build long-term client relationships.
- Strong communication skills with clients and internal project teams.
